Waterfall Hikes Near Sacramento, CA

Situated on the Sacramento River in the northern Central Valley with the Sierra Nevada foothills to the east, the area features broad river lowlands, riparian woodlands, rolling oak-studded hills and rocky creek canyons. Within 50 miles there are five waterfall routes, ranging from short roadside cascades and shaded riparian walks to moderate canyon scrambles; seasonal runoff and numerous suburban trailheads make these hikes unusually accessible for valley-based hikers.
