An hour north of High Point, Hanging Rock State Park holds five of the seven falls on this page. Lower Cascade drops 35 feet into a rock bowl after an easy eight-tenths-of-a-mile walk. Window Falls takes its name from a hole in the cliff beside the trail, 1.6 miles with 300 feet of climb. Hidden Falls, Upper Cascade, and Tory Falls are shorter walks still, and dogs are allowed throughout the park. Great Falls and White Falls appear with names only. String a few together and the drive earns a full day.
