The drive worth planning heads northeast to Copper Falls State Park near Mellen, where a 1.7-mile loop with about 150 feet of climbing passes Copper Falls and then Brownstone Falls on the Bad River. Morgan Falls in the Chequamegon National Forest is a 1.2-mile out and back. Pipestone Falls is an easy mile. Dogs can come along at Morgan and on the Copper Falls loop.
