Duluth's waterfall day trips point in two directions. On the Wisconsin side, Big Manitou Falls plunges 165 feet at Pattison State Park, the tallest waterfall that state has, viewed from a loop of about a mile and a half. Little Manitou adds a 31-foot drop a half-mile walk upstream. Amnicon Falls State Park strings several drops along a slightly longer loop. Northeast up Highway 61, Gooseberry Falls anchors the North Shore with a one-mile loop. Wherever a trail is listed here, the dog can come.
