Silver Valley waterfalls run short and friendly from Wallace. Graves Creek Falls hardly counts as a hike at a tenth of a mile. Shadow Falls and Vermilion Falls each want half a mile. Bull Run Creek Falls splits the difference at two miles with 300 feet of climbing. Fern Falls climbs 400 feet over its 2.5 miles, and Elk Creek Falls tops the list at 3.5 miles round trip with 500 feet up. Every one of the six takes dogs, and none eats more than an afternoon unless you let it.
