About Dickson Falls

Dickson Falls is a short, popular waterfall and gorge located within Fundy National Park in New Brunswick. The trail follows a narrow, mossy gorge with wooden boardwalks and stairs to multiple viewpoints of cascades and pools. The falls are most dramatic during spring runoff and after heavy rain; in winter the gorge can form impressive ice features but the route may be icy or closed.

The Setting

Dickson Falls sits at 104 metres within Fundy National Park, in the coastal lowlands of New Brunswick. The falls drop 8 metres.

Why This Waterfall Exists

Dickson Falls flows over hard volcanic rock laid down about 539 million to 1.0 billion years ago. These resistant rocks form a durable ledge that water cannot easily wear away, creating a 26-foot drop where softer material downstream has already eroded.
