About Beamer's Falls
Beamer's Falls is a small but scenic waterfall on Twenty Mile Creek within Beamer Memorial Conservation Area (Niagara Peninsula). The falls sit at the top of the Niagara Escarpment and are best known for their proximity to escarpment lookouts and raptor-migration viewing areas. Flow is highly season-dependent, typically stronger in spring and after heavy rain and reduced in late summer drought.
The Setting
Beamer's Falls sits at 197 metres in the foothills of Ontario. The falls drop 14 metres.
Why This Waterfall Exists
Beamer's Falls flows over layered sedimentary rock laid down about 252-539 million years ago. Over time, the stream has worn through these layers at different rates, creating a 45-foot drop that forms the waterfall.
